Automatic Lock Arm Awnings

Lock Arm awnings are the most well-known External Blinds these days. An old concept introduced in Australia some 40 years ago, these are now commonly called as “Storm Blinds” or Automatic Awnings. They offer a defensive barrier from the ultraviolet rays of the sun but the same time allows light through to illuminate any room or living space.
Produced with a maximum width up to 3950mm to cover any wall opening, these awnings are secured to a brick or wooden substrate (not in between mortar) and usually fitted 150mm over each side of the window reveal. Aside from windows, they can also be placed between columns of a porch or posts of a gazebo. A hood is rarely installed if awning is placed under an eave, as the roof overhang will ensure its protection.
