Remove Venetian Blinds

How to Remove Venetian Blinds?

Venetian blinds are a great choice for Sunshine Coast homes, offering both privacy and light control. But taking them down can be a challenge if you’re new to it. If you’re planning on installing new blinds from Home point, you’ll need to remove the old ones first. This guide will walk you through removing your Home point Venetian blinds safely and easily.

Gather Your Tools

Before you begin, grab the tools you’ll need: a drill, screwdriver, pliers (optional), and a ladder (if your blinds are high up). Having everything within reach saves you time and frustration.

Step 1: Take Down the Valance

The first step is to remove the valance, the decorative cover at the top of the blinds. This is usually held on by clips or brackets. Use your screwdriver to remove any screws, or carefully pull the clips away from the valance to detach it.

Step 2: Remove the Brackets

With the valance gone, you’ll see the brackets that hold the blinds in place. Use your drill or screwdriver to remove the screws holding the brackets to the wall or window frame. Be careful not to damage the wall or window frame as you do this.

Step 3: Detach the Blinds

Once the brackets are loose, carefully lift the blinds out of them. You might need to gently twist or turn the blinds slightly to release them. Hold onto the bottom rail as you take them down to avoid dropping them.

Prepare for New Blinds (Optional)

Now that your old blinds are gone, you can get ready for your new Home point blinds! If you’re replacing your Venetians with new ones, you may need to adjust the existing brackets or install new ones entirely. Remember to measure your window width and height carefully before installing new blinds to ensure a perfect fit.
